A: By flight: There are three airports surrounding DC. Washington Reagan is the closest airport and is accessible via the Metro. Washington Dulles is the second closest and takes about 35-40 minutes via car to get to downtown DC. If you travel to Dulles DC is accessible via an airport shuttle to a Metro stop, and then taking the Metro to Chinatown. The last and furthest is Baltimore Washington International Airport which is about 50 minutes via car to downtown DC. There is a MARC train on weekdays only which will take you to Union Station Metro/Train stop in DC.
By train: The train station in DC is Union Station. There is a metro stop connected to the train station called Union Square Metro on the Red Line.
A: The best way to get around DC is through the Metro rail or bus system. You can get information on the Metro system through the website http://www.wmata.com/. There are also several cab companies available throughout the city. Driving is more difficult as it is hard to find parking during certain hours. Parking meters are enforced until 10:00pm.
A: The stay and play policy is a policy implemented to encourage players to
stay at our host hotel (The Renaissance). The room requirement is 10 room-nights for men and 6 room-nights for women. The Stay and Play credit amount is $300 for men and $200 refund for women of their registration fees. All other hotel will not be considered under the Stay and Play policy.
A: We will be using the Molten Volleyballs. The men will play with the Pro Touch balls and the women will play with the Super Touch balls.
A: The play site will be held on Pennsylvania Avenue, NW between 9th and 14th Streets. It is approximately 5 blocks from the Renaissance Hotel. The street will close for game play over the weekend. There will not be any parking for players. It is recommended that you walk to the play site because it is not that far. Or if you want, you can take a taxi or subway. The nearest metro is Federal Triangle on the Orange/Blue line or the Archives-Navy Memorial on the Green/Yellow line.
A: The back up play site will be held indoors at the Washington Convention Center. One block from the Renaissance Hotel.
A: The tournament will be providing Chinese food delivery service for lunch. Orders must be made and paid in advance at 10am. The food will be delivered to the play site between 12:30 – 1:00pm. Go to the Command Center to place your orders for your teams. Menus will be provided in your player bags and at the command center over the weekend.
